These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of SurfaceDocs (the "Service") operated at https://surfacedocs.dev. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

What SurfaceDocs Does

SurfaceDocs provides an API and platform for saving and sharing AI-generated content. You integrate our SDK, your LLM generates structured content, and we provide instant shareable URLs.

Accounts

To use the Service, you must create an account using Google authentication. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.

You must be at least 18 years old to use the Service.

Your Content

You retain full ownership of any content you create or generate through the Service ("Your Content"). By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to host, store, and display Your Content as necessary to operate the Service.

You are solely responsible for Your Content. We do not review, verify, or endorse any content generated through the Service.

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Violate any applicable law or regulation
  • Create, store, or distribute content that is illegal, defamatory, or obscene
  • Distribute malware, viruses, or other harmful code
  • Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
  • Harass, abuse, or harm others
  • Spam or distribute unsolicited content
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or other users' accounts
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service

Service Tiers

Free tier: Up to 100 documents per month. Documents are retained for 90 days, after which they may be automatically deleted.

Paid tier: Terms and pricing will be specified separately when you subscribe.

You may delete your documents at any time through the Service.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time.

We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion, with or without notice, for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately, and we may delete Your Content.

Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We do not warrant the accuracy, reliability, or completeness of any content generated, stored, or displayed through the Service.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SURFACEDOCS AND ITS OWNER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, OR GOODWILL.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless SurfaceDocs and its owner from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your use of the Service, Your Content, or your violation of these Terms.

Changes to the Service

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or any part of it) at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting a notice on the Service or by email. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, United States, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Wisconsin. You consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.

Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and SurfaceDocs regarding your use of the Service.
